Notes: Starting at 9:30pm CDT we had an OSPF Routing failure that led to an outage that impacted most of our IP Space. The issue was resolved around 10:15pm. We apologize for the downtime and are working to ensure that similar issues in the future will not have such a massive impact.

Notes: On Tuesday February 7th our previous pop3 daemon stopped responding. In order to resume pop functionality on mail.scc.net we replaced the daemon with a new version of qpopper. The total downtime was over 3 hours in length.

Notes: Changed from O MaxMessageSize=1000000 to O MaxMessageSize=26000000 to accomodate a few users. Please beware, sending large attachments through email is unreliable, undesireable, and in many cases we cannot help you if they're not delivered properly.

Action: Mailscreen mail routing enabled.
Notes: Late last night, and early this morning, many changes were made to our email infrastructure and the supporting systems (DNS/etc) to accomodate the release of our Mailscreen system. We encountered a few issues, if you're having any mail troubles please contact our phone support team. Users can expect a welcome letter from the new spam filtering service to be in their mailbox sometime today.

Notes: Late Thursday and into Friday spamassassin failed and did not automatically restart. It was restarted manually and is functioning properly now. This was not related to our migration to Mailscreen filtering. Spamassassin will be retired Feburary 1st.

Notes: The logfile for secure transactions on the superweb2 server had grown past the upper limit. Rotated log manually to fix server. Users who were unable to modify their mailbox settings should be able to access this feature again.

Action: Replacement upgraded server deployed
Notes: More powerful hardware was deployed to replace the aged backup mailserver. The new server runs a different mail server software than the previous server, and is configured to more effectively fill this role than our old software. This is part of our global plan to upgrade and improve our mail architecture.
